The Rap School?
So after class I started thinking, if we were to revamp the entire music education program, why not revamp a school. It is difficult enough for a music department to interact with the other concentrations in a school building because of one, the location of the music rooms, and two, the sometimes negative connotations that are associated with the music teachers or even the wing itself. So imagine if then we're being viewed as the only area where rap is being acknowledged in the building, this could segregate us even more. So why not start with a charter school; The Rap School. Why not let all elements of Rap music lead in the subjects being taught, or at least let it know there's a respect from the teachers and administration for the genre that is close to their hearts. Tell me what you think...
